Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons.
Or alternatively, as put by a Russian proverb, โBetter to be an eagle for a day than a pigeon for a lifetime.โ TBH, Iโve got nothing against pigeons. It was not my authorial intention to throw shade at them. Rather the point of writing about fashion that gets you noticed goes more to a tiny popinjay of a man wearing a pink Windsor knot necktie on a gray day in the middle of the city, where everyone else is dressed in black.
I found this supercute minidress on Amazon. And to my delight and surprise, it wears better than expected. Itโd make a nice outfit for Valentineโs Day too. You may not have time to get a reservation to that expensive new Canadian fusion restaurant your significant other has been bugging you to get for 6 months, even though there are no tables and youโre not sure itโs even a real restaurant. Butโyou still have time to get them matching pink gift sets from Amazonโperhaps a pink necktie for a Valentiny popinjay of a man to go with that pink flamingo dress of yoursโand thatโs a very close second. Plus, the fact that you two love birds of a feather flock together does not make either of you an accessory after the fact of anti-pigeon squawk. Tho you need to consider clothing accessories. I accessorized my dress with a faux shearling hat, pink peacoat, and my new fave boots (featured in an earlier blog entry) with sheer hosiery, which did zero to keep my legs warm; technically: since โtights are not leotards or leg warmers,โ as I was recently reminded. To that person incidentally: eff you and your facts. And for you, dear reader, I am including a link to warmer tights below.
